Feral Ground

I met Thomas Petersen, the Danish visual artist better known as Grundvold, a few years ago and we talked about doing a photography project ever since. We finally managed to get together this autumn and headed to Pollok Park to take some pictures. Shot on analog and digital, we called it “Feral Ground” and intended for it to be a commentary of sorts on toxic masculinity, the masculine/feminine, strong/vulnerable in all of us. Results below:

Clinetix - Be You Campaign

Clinetix is an award-winning rejuvenation clinic with locations in Bothwell and Glasgow's West End. At the end of last year, I had the pleasure of shooting their "Be You" marketing campaign promoting bespoke treatments aimed at people of various ages and walks of life. The shoot took place at 29 Glasgow and Dakota Hotel as well as outdoors on Buchanan Street. Hair and make up by Carly Gray.

Behind the scenes:

Nicole Caldwell

You may have seen Nicole Caldwell belting out "Purple Rain" on the X-Factor recently. I've been a fan of her voice ever since I've heard her perform with Soul Nation Choir a few years ago. Being able to finally work with Nicole on her very first photoshoot as a solo artist was a great opportunity. And a lot of fun! The brief was "bohemian/hippie/natural" so off we went last month to Mugdock Country Park (one of my favourite places to shoot) with Caroline Stewart on makeup duties and spent an evening walking about, laughing and talking nonsense. Oh yes, and we took some photos too. Enjoy!

PS. Big thanks to David for all the help!

Sandie Robertson

Sandie Robertson is a trainer and wellness coach whom I photographed several times in the past years. Gearing up for another photo shoot earlier this summer, Sandie decided to go beyond the usual headshot/portrait photos we had done in the past - the ever-brilliant I'll Be Your Mirror was asked to help with styling the session and Ingliston Country Club in Bishopton was chosen for its location. Given Sandie's background in all things equestrian (both as a show jumper and now as an equestrian confidence and performance coach) and her past career as a model it all made sense. Results below:

Caroline Stewart Bridal Make Up

I've worked with Caroline Stewart on numerous shoots throughout the years, she's a brilliant makeup artist and a pleasure to have around (that last bit always helps!). Caroline got in touch a couple of months ago and asked me to take some promotional images for the bridal side of her makeup business. Kirsty Low from Model Team was our face for the day and we spent a gorgeous sunny afternoon in Edinburgh taking pictures. All shot with natural light (although we did use a diffuser and a reflector throughout). Have a look below:
